Sure the holiday craze has been replaced with standing in line at post holiday sales and a busier than usual gym. But it also brings about a new sense of purpose along with an entirely new calendar year. It’s a fresh start, after all, so why not take advantage of it?

If you don’t already have a will and estate plan, it’s a great time to start the process. After spending so much time celebrating with the ones you care about most, it’s not such a stretch to think about how you can take care of them in the future. 

Already have a set estate plan in place? That’s great. But it’s also a good time to reassess your needs as they may have changed over the previous year. Maybe your children are going off to college and becoming more independent. Or a named guardian for your minors has had a life change that makes them unable to follow through on their guardianship. No matter the case, life has a tendency to evolve. That’s why it makes sense to ensure your estate plan evolves along with it.
